Ryan and I took a special trip to St. George for our anniversary... Without the kids. Woah! I have never been away from the kids for more than a night and this was two nights, so this was big time! My parents graciously watched the kids and my brother let us rent his fabulous condo.

I am not one who likes heights. So, I am a little puzzled as to why I chose to encourage Ryan to do the hike. I must have also forgotten my first experience back in college. Actually, I think I was much braver when I was a young lass. And I wasn't excited about it back then! But this time it seemed more traumatic. And halfway, up the chains, I was reminded of my kids back at home and decided to call it quits. We headed back. I know it was a bit wimpy, but I couldn't take it anymore. It didn't seem worth it. :) Anyway, Angel's Landing is a 5 mile hike. Four miles hiking with .5 miles of chains to the top summit. And .5 miles back.

So, we even took a little time to lay out by the pool, which never happens anymore. But without kids, we thought it would be a great opportunity. Unfortunately, it was an unseasonably cool weekend in St. George. But we thought we could manage 65 degrees at the poolside. The breeze was killer though. We didn't last too long reading. Ryan dared me to jump in the frigid diving pool. And I did, and decided to do a flip in the process, just to add a little bit to the impressive factor. I got out of the pool and asked Ryan what he thought, and he said it was great. I asked him what he thought of my flip and he didn't even realize I had done a flip. Apparently, he couldn't tell through the camera. But here is a our proof. We decided to go with the indoor pool from then on.

Looks like you had so much fun! That flip in the pool is pretty impressive. I have never been able to do them, I guess I am a whimp. It was so fun to see you on Saturday night at Nessa's too.
fun fun! It is so nice you go tot get away from the kids for two nights. I can't wait for mine and Dan's trip this weekend either! Impressive flip!

What a fun trip! I love the back flip Michelle! I didn't know you could do that! I whimped out on Angel's Landing last time we went too. Somehow it seemed a lot less scary 7 years ago. I'm glad you guys had time to get away together and have fun! I love the pictures-especially the back flip!
